Onto the next adventure

In the summer of 2012, I was recruited to join the retail transformation taking place at JCPenney. I’d spent the previous five years in account management at Olson, an independent agency based in Minneapolis, running digital and holistic projects, and another year receiving a crash course in retail marketing at Target. Life was good, but I’d been playing it safe.

Channeling Hunter S. Thompson (buy the ticket, take the ride) I leaped at the JCPenney opportunity, joining the marketing strategy team as a Senior Manager tasked with launching the new Home department and partnering with key brands Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler, Michael Graves Design and Design by Conran. Constant change, shifting strategies, new leadership several times over, a promotion to Marketing Director, and a year and six months later I can say that it was certainly an interesting ride. I walk away with friends and mentors, and no regrets.

But now it's time for the next adventure. One where I take my love for strategy and creative problem solving, combine it with my interest in technology and passion for an active lifestyle, sprinkle in some of the fast-paced-crazy of retail and apply it all to something that matters - a product or service that drives change and impacts lives.
